The following assurances are required for each program. Please make sure that your program follows each of these items. You will be responsible for providing evidence of each of these in the case of an audit or upon request from a program director. You should keep this evidence on file. If you have any questions, please contact a Program Director.
The classroom is physically accessible for individuals with disabilities.
The laboratory is physically accessible for individuals with disabilities.
All students have an equal opportunity to participate in this program.
Leadership training for all students will be integrated in the classroom through Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO).
Strategies are in place to prevent gender bias/discrimination.
The program prepares students for advanced education or entry into the workplace.
Strategies are in place to recruit students to reflect the ethnic composition of the community.
Advisory Board is made up of 51% from business and industry.
The instructor(s) is licensed for secondary education by Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
The instructor(s) have the appropriate Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential for the program.
There are articulation agreements in place by the time a student completes the program.
The program provides opportunities for students to participate in work-site based learning (i.e., co-op, internship, externship, apprenticeship, clinical based, supervised experience)

There is a Five Year Plan on file that describes the program's strengths and weaknesses, defines the program's goals for the next five years, includes the results in the attainment of the program's established benchmarks, and includes the concept of continuous improvement over the next five years. This documentation can be provided upon request.

For a program request to be approved there must be an advisory committee in place of at least 5 members that meets a minimum of 2 times per year. If this program request is audited, meeting minutes will need to be provided and advisory committee members may be contacted. Keep on file a current list of all advisory committee members, including contact phone number, occupational title and place of employment.

Floor Plan for NEW programs ONLY
The classroom or lab has about 150 square feet (or more) available per student.
OR since the class size is under 20 students, the classroom is smaller than 150 square feet per student, but not less than 1500 total square feet.
The classroom or lab meets environmental safety standards such as:
  • appropriate hazardous waste disposal
  • adequate ventilation
  • appropriate safety equipment
  • appropriate signage and warnings
The classroom or lab has a nontraditional layout such as computer stations and group work areas.

Please note: if your program is in the area of Agriculture, Trades and Industry, Cosmetology, or Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) you must keep a copy of your classroom and laboratory floor plans on file in case of an audit of your program request.
